‘It’s the End of the World’ (2011), ‘Into the Woods’, ‘Nobody Lives Here!’ + ‘Spring Awakening’

So..

I have had the whole day to myself, and at some point I finally decided that I should totally redo the basic idea for ‘Into the Woods’.. Originally, it was supposed to have been a full-length feature, but it is now going to be compressed into a much smaller (and much smarter) film. It is now going to have approximately the same length as ‘It’s the End of World’, and it is going to stand alongside that film as part of a trilogy of ‘not so short short films’..

The Third film is going to be a continuation of ‘It’s the End of the World’, taking its name from that film’s tagline — ‘Nobody Lives Here!’

I am super excited about this.! The whole thing seems much more manageable now; and as soon as I had thought of it, it all seemed to make so much more sense even.! … So it’s all good.! :)

I spent the evening creating an alternate version of the poster that I put up yesterday — This one represents all three films:!

I know that my name is in there an awful lot — It’s not that I’m trying to be pretentious, it’s just retro.! ;9

BTW.. Listen to this — It’s from ‘Spring Awakening: Original Broadway Cast Recording’, and it’s swell.! It is one of the slower songs, but it has really gotten under my skin.. :)

‘It’s the End of the World’ (2011), Tunage Update.!

Long time, no see.!

I recently finished work on the script for a (not so short) short film, which is going to be called ‘It’s the End of the World’.! The script is about 25 pages and I wrote it in three days.. I have been working with the idea for this film — on and off — for a very long time; it was actually the very first short film that I ever sat down and tried to write.! The concept has changed a lot since then — for the better, I think — and I hope to start shooting it sometime next year.

I don’t want to say too much about the storyline, so I’m just going to leave you with a peak at a brand new teaser poster:!

It’s going to be epic.! :9

Having shared this with you, I also wanted to put up some of the music that I’ve been listening to since my last post. I have had a few crazes throughout the last couple of months — one of them being UNKLE:

This song is off their latest release, ‘Where the Night Did Fall’, and it is friggin’ epic.! (Lately, I’m trying to squeeze in that word anywhere I can, as much as I can.. ;9..)

Another artist that I’ve been going crazy for is Janelle Monáe. She is honestly one of the most talented people that I have ever encountered. On her sophemore release, ‘The ArchAndroid’ she mixes a truckload of different genres — and she does so without leaving any traces of a mess.. This woman is truly amazing.!

This other track is off her debut EP:

I wanted to finish off, by mentioning that I am still working on ‘Into the Woods’.. A ton of stuff has been going on lately and I have just had to set it aside for some time, wanting to do some work on a couple of smaller projects first.

Cheers to you all.!

St. Vincent, ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’…

•June 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Hi,

I haven’t had a lot of time to myself these last couple of days. I’ve been working some long shifts, and I’ve been passing time behind the counter, penning ideas and quick drafts (for short-films and such) onto challengingly small pieces of paper. Aside from that — not much has been going on..

I recently discovered SoundCloud, something that I ought to have known about a long time ago.. So I thought that I’d start sharing some more of the music that I find/like listening to. Here goes:

From St. Vincent’s much acclaimed sophomore release, ‘Actor‘:

And from ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse‘:

Anyway.. Another thing that I wanted to share with you is this. It’s the (temporary) title art for a future project called ‘Laughing With a Mouth Full of Blood‘:

Expect to hear more about this.. It’s something that has been on my mind for a very long time, and it’s definitely going to be very special, so..

Stay tuned.. :)

Into the Woods (2010), Update

•June 18, 2010 • Leave a Comment

So..

It’s been a month of doing nothing but writing (in between my shifts at work, that is), and a couple of days ago I actually punched in the words that completed the first draft: ‘the end’. I’m still working on it, doing some minor changes here and there – but lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the structure of the film, and while I’m very happy with the way that things have turned out so far, I might be making a few (much bigger) alterations to the script.

This is a good thing, by all means. And I am still über-excited to see how this is all going to play out.

Anyway.. I also wanted to share some of the music that I’ve been listening to. These are two bands that I have had long-time crushes on, and I actually plan on using these two songs in the actual movie:

Into the Woods (2010)

The first thing that I’d like to share is this:

It’s the (temporary) poster art for a film that I’m currently working on. It’s a two-part horror film that takes a classic premise and – hopefully – freshens it. I have almost completed the script and I am psyched (!) to start casting. The shoot is going to be heaps of fun – even though the subtext of the script is pretty perverse.

I’ll be posting more on this as the project moves forward.

Bonjour!

Greetings from DK..

My name is Christian Edvard Halberg. And I wanted to create this space so that I’d have somewhere to do away with all the stuff that I make. It’s mostly film-related, but I sometimes work with music, picture-editing and ‘art’ as well. Plus, I might want to share a couple of random thoughts from time to time. This place will probably create itself..

Anyway, I’m not expecting a lot of people to see this. But whenever I do something that can be considered at least mildly interesting, I’ll put it up here instead of just hiding it away. Sooo…

Enjoy.
